Big and clunky... allot of people will love it. Remember, you can only be "pro" if your camera has to go on your shoulder.
from the datasheet it is capable of 4K at 120fps... very interesting. Looks like highest 4K framerate/$ on the market!
Love the form factor, very similar to Arri Alexa. Looks more elegant than a DSLR with a bunch of Zacuto gear. Of course we have to wait and see how good the image quality is.
Same sensor as BMPC apparently, and URSA. Looks nice. Hopefully this puts the pressure on Blackmagic to un-cork the framerate on the BMPC and URSA.
@bwhitz - not quite sure what you mean there
Hmm, Blackmagic URSA weights 7.5kg (16.5 lbs], AJA Cion is 6.4 lbs / 2.9 kg (without top handle attached); 7.4 lbs / 3.4 kg (with top handle attached) ...
grate. Finally someone making proper use of aptina sensor. ergonomics all the way, leather on handle just to feel the warmth, also on good shoulder, 2.7kg..looking like a ikonoskop with less personal approach. its grate detail. If they got it with the color science , and achieve that overall "look" it will be a really strong competitor on the 12 to 13 stop category.
+1 on the codec options.
Footage
Mike, did you purposefully underexpose?
