My first ever brand film was just launched.

My journey in helping Tuxera to humanize their brand started in early October 2015. From the very beginning, it was clear that our limited budget meant that we had to be innovative, both in terms of story and actual production. We decided to go for a mix of carefully selected stockfootage and combine it with some powerful low key footage from the Tuxera lab, which we shot with a GH4 on a shogun.

I hope this film will help Tuxera to get closer to the billions of people powering their devices with their ground breaking software.

Quantum Film - new sensor technology https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/14067/quantum-film-new-sensor-technology Mon, 16 Nov 2015 07:11:50 +0000 cas1 14067@/talks/discussions From DPreview I found this video explaining the new Quantum Film technology. In essence the traditional silicon layer is replaced by a thinner new material layer, that allows for a bigger dynamic range and global shutter.

Will this scale to larger sensor sizes? Will it allow a higher Iso?

I'm looking forward to seeing some ungraded shots.

Social media disruptor? https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/13217/social-media-disruptor Thu, 18 Jun 2015 13:33:54 +0000 suresure123 13217@/talks/discussions I was shown this cool app recently, it combines a Telegram messenger app with cryptocurrency so you can send money to people just like you would a text message. What I like is in theory it could bypass the big social media companies as the app connects advertisers with users (as much as they want) but must pay for their attention. Kind of brilliant idea I think. You earn coins by inviting friends, it could go crazy viral soon so I bought some of the coins hoping for another 'Bitcoin'. If you download the app post your address and maybe I'll send a few coins so you can test the app.

Could Nano Proofing Tech be used to Water Proof Camera Gear? https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/5847/could-nano-proofing-tech-be-used-to-water-proof-camera-gear Sun, 20 Jan 2013 09:17:53 +0000 Felix 5847@/talks/discussions This tech report from the BBC is interesting and apologies if its already been posted but if phones and tablets can be coated then does the mean that Cameras (or others) like a GH2/GH3 be baked to become water resistant? You probably would'nt go diving with it but the thought of have a weather proof camera, memory cards, Microphones protecting sensitive diaphragms & possibly lenses is an interesting use for this Water proofing Nano technology - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/click_online/9786346.stm

I remember a while back a number of reports from users dropping their kit Philip Bloom in Australia and accidentally dropped memory cards and 5D's in beaches - Could this new tech save the day?

I shoot in the UK and with the weather as it is I'd be interested in proofing my kit for those rainy days.

What are the potential health risks of this new tech always concerned that it could be absorbed by the user - thoughts?

2013 camera predictions? https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/5397/2013-camera-predictions Fri, 07 Dec 2012 01:59:09 +0000 pletta 5397@/talks/discussions So i'm coming into some money soon . . . and by coming into some money, I mean I'm getting my student loans soon and plan to spend it on something other than school. Anyways, I've been looking to get a better camera and I've been looking at Black Magic's camera. It sounds great and for a great price. The only reservation I have is that I've been looking at and reading about the Black Magic for quite awhile. In the mean time it seems there have been a ton of new and huge camera and image sensor innovations. This young trend of making extremely affordable and capable raw cinema cameras seems as though it is about to explode (more than it already has) and I wanted to know what kind of expectations anyone might have for cameras coming out in the near future regarding technical specs and prices. I.e. 16-bit 4k and high frame rates (not point grey) for $3000 ? I might be hoping for too much but after seeing some of the latest camera innovations it doesn't seem that far fetched.

Vector Video in 5 years? https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/5518/vector-video-in-5-years Tue, 18 Dec 2012 12:03:22 +0000 pletta 5518@/talks/discussions Check out this article. If this really does happen it seems to me that the implications for digital video would be huge.

The new codec (a program that encodes or decodes a digital video stream) is reportedly capable of filling in the boundaries between the elements in vector images. No details have been released regarding how the process works. The result, however, is moving vector-based video that is said to be equal in quality to bitmap video.

“This is a significant breakthrough which will revolutionize the way visual media is produced,” said Prof. Phil Willis, of the university’s Department of Computer Science.

The codec was developed in partnership with tech firms Root6 Technology, Smoke & Mirrors and Ovation Data Services. Commercial partners are now being sought to develop the technology further.

Free Energy ready to be handed out by an Iranian Scientist in Belgium on Sept 9th. https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/4449/free-energy-ready-to-be-handed-out-by-an-iranian-scientist-in-belgium-on-sept-9th. Sat, 01 Sep 2012 19:09:49 +0000 Bueller 4449@/talks/discussions I doubt that what this guy has works. But if it does it could be very troubling to some very important people. I just thought some people might be interested in knowing about it.
