Im wondering why you never see softboxes with a rectangular profile as opposed to the standard pyramid shaped profile. Do the angled sides reflect light forward better? I mean, with a rectangular profile, you have a larger back side area to reflect, so does it matter?

Softbox for the 312 Led light https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/2327/softbox-for-the-312-led-light Sun, 19 Feb 2012 11:10:01 +0000 atticusd 2327@/talks/discussions Hi guys,

I've been looking for a cheap softbox/diffuser solution to make the light from a 312 bicolor led more pleasant looking and keep the eyes of the actor from burning out. There's a lot of stuff on ebay but being an available light kind of guy I'm a bit lost.

Any recommendations? I would buy from anywhere but prefer a european seller/shop.

Thanks a lot!

Softbox to fit 5 CFL head? https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/10265/softbox-to-fit-5-cfl-head Sun, 27 Apr 2014 20:47:18 +0000 joethepro 10265@/talks/discussions Im looking to purchase this cowboy studio CFL kit: http://www.cowboystudio.com/product_p/n-2000wboomkit.htm

...which includes this 5 CFL head. http://www.cowboystudio.com/product_p/2000w%20head%20only.htm

Are there any higher quality softboxes that will fit this head that I could upgrade to in the future? They all seem to have built in sockets or proprietary mounts.

Best Softbox Lighting Solution? https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/3288/best-softbox-lighting-solution Mon, 21 May 2012 09:08:52 +0000 civopo 3288@/talks/discussions Hi,

I am currently searching for an affordable lighting set-up as I'm going to do more interview stuff etc. in future.

The only thing I am sure about is that i want softboxes as light-modifiers, but what kind of light sources should I use? There are so much options. Halogen - Fluorescent - HMI - LED... As far as I am concerned, LED is the new trend in terms of lighting, but whats the reason for? Low energy, portable? Do I need a softbox in use with a LED for example?

I have a budget of approximately 100-350USD.

As a hair light, i'm going to use a 150w or 300w PRO As ARRI Fresnel. (http://www.ebay.de/itm/As-ARRI-Economical-300W-studio-lighting-Fresnel-Tungsten-Light-300-watts-bulb-/221022906307?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3375fde7c3#ht_3350wt_1398)

Thanks a lot!
