The price is very good. My only doubt is that the GH2 battery door will not open when in the cage. Not a deal breaker because I plan to use a quick release.

Arthurian Brocéliande - Tokina 11-16 Driftwood VY Canis Majoris https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/4345/arthurian-broceliande-tokina-11-16-driftwood-vy-canis-majoris Thu, 23 Aug 2012 15:32:45 +0000 richardwouter 4345@/talks/discussions Some footage that I shot on holiday in France with my Panasonic GH2 and Tokina AT-X Pro 11-16 lens. Shot in the Paimpont forest (said to be the Arthurian Brocéliande) and near Mont Saint-Michel. A timelapse at the golden hour before darkness.

Just for fun to play with my new wide lens. No special grading.

Camera : Panasonic GH2 AVC-Intra (Driftwood VY Canis Majoris Day PM) Lens : Tokina AT-X 116 Pro DX AF 11-16mm f2.8 Gear : Sachtler FSB-4 75 CF, Gini Rig Follow Focus, Lilliput field monitor Tools: FCPX

Locations: Paimpont forest, sometimes said to be the Arthurian Brocéliande, is in the French commune of Paimpont, near the city of Rennes in Brittany. As Brocéliande it had a reputation in the Medieval imagination as a place of magic and mystery. It is the setting of a number of adventures in Arthurian legend, notably Chrétien de Troyes's Yvain, the Knight of the Lion, and locals[citation needed] claim the tree in which the Lady of the Lake supposedly imprisoned Merlin can still be seen today.

Mont Saint-Michel (Saint Michael's Mount) is a rocky tidal island and a commune in Normandy, France. It is located approximately one kilometre (just over half a mile) off the country's north-western coast, at the mouth of the Couesnon River near Avranches. The population of the island is 41, as of 2006. The Mont-Saint-Michel and its bay are part of the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.

It's in limited release right now, but if it's playing within an hour of you, watch it asap. Since this was shot on the AF100 this gives you a good idea of what our GH1/2 can do with a million bucks and a bunch of trained Siliat fighters. :P

This BTS shows the AF100 in action with Fig Rig and I believe Nano flash recorder(read that somewhere, they don't say in BTS). Also note how they light. In some ways the lack of light hurt in a few sequences, noticeably the staircase ambush scene. Way dark and lots of noise. Other than that, I didn't see any jello or rolling shutter and that camera was whipping back and forth. I'm not a fan of "shaky cam", but this was used perfectly and the quick editing wasn't used to hide the fight choreography but to enhance the overall feel of the scenes.

Here's one of the scenes that the above BTS showed. Download the full 1080p to get the best view. Even if you watch every video on this channel, it won't spoil much. This movie is about an hour, 50 min and about 15min of that is talking and plot, lol, the rest is action. Great movie and the sequel is in the works.

EDIT: Forgot to put the trailer, lol: I actually prefer this to the redband trailer, but the redband is on the Vimeo page if you want to see it.

Quite a progress, as for --- (all shipped!) you get quite good camera base, handel, five rods, thumbscrews are all metal.
Normally around $80 is lowest price for this baseplate only.

Link removed, as it is not actual.

Btw GreatPhoto ebay seller, is just bitch full of lies. Never buy anything from him.

If you want one and only first rig, I still think advanced rig from our deals is better, as it is offset and handles are much better.

Please help identify this rig https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/3474/please-help-identify-this-rig Mon, 04 Jun 2012 19:25:18 +0000 saltherring 3474@/talks/discussions I am trying to figure out what rig this is posted here. It may be a Redrock Micro and if so, what make/model is it? They don't have anything like it on their website at the moment.

Also, if anyone knows of similar rigs where the main rod can be adjusted and set below the shoulder (seems most of them being made are simply straight rods parallel to the shoulder). I also like that the handles are closer together rather than so far apart as is the case with most models.

Thanks!

GH3/GH2/GH1 Cage CNC Solid Block Aluminium Development https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/3250/gh3gh2gh1-cage-cnc-solid-block-aluminium-development- Fri, 18 May 2012 06:07:12 +0000 jakef 3250@/talks/discussions Firstly I would like to thank everyone's input regarding the GH2 as well as details about cage requirements throughout Personal View. VK I like that you say things as it is... also all developers thank you and well done with the "The Great Camera Shootout" results!

I'm currently finalising Cad drawings for the Cage, my idea is to make a cage that would complement the GH2 visually as well as being practical in a profesional environment.

I know we would like all bells and wistles (anything can be made or added) but please keep in mind that i need to keep the cost down as so far machining time looks to be around one hour per cage plus black hard anodising plus included accesories ie; HDMI clamp . Saying that i would like to price it realistically. So far i'm very exited, the Cage looks very professional. I will attach pics as soon as i finish drawings sometime next week. If all goes well we could have a batch of 25 in a 2-3 weeks.

A bit about me, I've enjoyed building film equipment as much as i have using a camera. Thus far i've build and tweaked various rigs ie; stabliser, motorised timelapse slider, follow focus rig. I've also played around with converting bolex lenses for Micro 43, some 8mm lenses do work with the GH2 EX Tele Conv Mode with great results. I started using the GF1 when the hack talks was still on another forum, and i'm now using a GH2. I am passionate about seeing professional equipment becoming more accessible for all filmakers to focus on creativity to tell their stories.

I am based near Richmond in the UK where the cage will be made.

I appreciate any input regarding this venture.

$16 DIY Rig https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/2215/16-diy-rig Tue, 07 Feb 2012 12:02:20 +0000 bostonmike 2215@/talks/discussions Anyone who is on a tight budget and really wants to spend their money where it counts might benefit from this. I am not a professional photographer and I don't do event shooting or any other type of situation where I'm getting paid to shoot photos/video. Its just myself and a small crew who are into shooting short films. I try to spend what little money I have on the camera and sound gear and improvise using DIY lighting, dollies, rigs, etc...That being said, I really don't care if someone notices that I'm using a VHS box and cut up plastic blinds for a matte box..its only the finished product I care about.

This is also a prototype, there are many ways this can be improved, but its fully functional in its present state. Sorry for the lousy photo, but my Canon Powershot is half dead. I still need to do a few adjustments such as replace my plastic and rubber mounts with metal plates, spray the matte box with a flat, non-glare paint, attach a black elastic bag between the matte box and lens so when I use smaller lenses there will be no light seeping through on the sides, etc.

If anyone is interested, I'll give you the full details. The whole thing was built using these two racks and scraps of items I found laying around in my garage/tool room. It holds my GH2, and Juicedlink nicely. I have my NTG-3 on a boom pole ($17), so there is no mic support arm. It would be easy enough to attach one.

I'm tempted, but not entirely convinced of the Merlin's compatibility with GH2? Anyone have experience with this combination? For that kind of money, should I be looking more at rig setups? I'm a mobile shooter, but once in a while I'll use a tracking dolly for pretty shots. I'm not entirely convinced on the sniper/cowboy line of rigs either. Thoughts and open discussion on this topic?

Has anyone removed or exchanged the cork on Ginirig´s camera mount? https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/2065/has-anyone-removed-or-exchanged-the-cork-on-ginirigs-camera-mount Fri, 20 Jan 2012 04:54:57 +0000 JackBayer 2065@/talks/discussions Hi,

I was shooting a concert yesterday on my Ginirig. When I wanted to take some pictures I grabbed my GH2 with my right hand of course and shot the stills. When I continued filming I realized that the follow focus wasn´t touching the lens gear anymore because by just holding the cam on its grip it twisted a little bit on the cork. I have grip tape on the GH2´s bottom and it is tightened to the base plate as humanly possible.

So now I´m thinking of removing that cork and I am wondering if anyone has any experience to share on that matter.

Thanks!
