And there are some small continuity goofs between shots, but I hope you like the result.

Nikon 35/1.4 and 85/1.8 AI'D for sale https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/4239/nikon-351.4-and-851.8-aid-for-sale Mon, 13 Aug 2012 21:28:36 +0000 ISO1600 4239@/talks/discussions Two great old lenses for sale. These lenses are both 100% legit- only reason i'm selling is just sold my 5DII and got a OM-D. I need M4/3 lenses. Looking to get cash (via paypal) or possibly trade for Panasonic glass (14, 20, 25). Check my feedback on fredmiranda: http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/feedback/75096 or on ebay under user "180s13".

35/1.4: legendary lens. Amazing build quality. ALL metal- even the glass is metal! (j/k). This is the old pre-AI version, with factory/nikon AI conversion on it- so it will work on any modern nikon camera that can handle AI lenses. Focus is very well dampened, and a LONG throw. This would be good for video. 9 Aperture blades. The only thing keeping me from rating this a 9+ is i trimmed the baffle/shroud in the rear of the lens so that i could mount it on my 5DII. Caps included. Looking to get $225(net) for this sucker. Can include Fotodiox Pro NF-EF adapter.

85/1.8: Another awesome lens. Bokeh machine. Tons of character. This one isn't as in as good of shape as the 35, it has some wear on the barrel/focusing ring. Has been AI converted by the excellent Jim White (AIconversions.com). Caps included. Looking to get $200(net) for this guy. Can include Fotodiox Pro NF-EF adapter.

Great lens, perfect for film/video uses due to it's manual iris and long focus throw. Really sharp and beautiful rendering of images. Comes with generic front and rear caps. Indie Filmmaking Lenses https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/2172/indie-filmmaking-lenses Wed, 01 Feb 2012 22:18:18 +0000 bostonmike 2172@/talks/discussions I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to lenses. I purchased the GH2 with the intent of filming a few screenplays I've written over the years, or at least short films in order to promote them. I have no use in the camera for still photography except in capturing stills to eventually promote the videos. I purchased the camera with the 14-140mm kit lens. I really didn't think I would use this kit lens much for filmmaking, since I really hate the zoom look in films. I prefer to move the camera itself, but at $1100 I couldn't beat the price of the 14-140mm pkg.

So between looking at a film called Musgo, which was filmed entirely on GH2 with Tokina (I can't afford) and Nikon 28mm and 50mm lenses, I decided I would purchase a couple. I like the look of the film. I found a Nikkor 50mm 1.4 AIS on Ebay for $158 and a Nikon 28mm f2.8 AIS for $135...I have only $300 to spend, so I thought this might be a good set. I haven't purchased them yet. I saw cheaper non-AIS lenses, but not sure if that matters.

On the other hand, I recently saw a video I liked that had a Vivitar 28-90mm f2.8 lens and a Konica Hexanon 40mm f1.8 lens that I liked. I found them for $139 and $70 on Ebay....and another fixed lens Vivitar 28mm AIS f2.8 for $80.

Much of where I will be shooting is right here in the city, lots of shaded streets, under bridges, subway, in vehicles, as well as indoor and bright outdoor settings, etc..so I want lenses that can cover a wide variety of light situations. I love the look of rich contrast and I didn't think the Canon 50mm samples showed much of that. I don't want to be spending money on a focal length that I already have covered with the 14-140 unless it gives me a lot more options as far as light goes.

I would love some input from people who have more experience with any of these lenses. I'm trying to make the most out of my limited $$$. Thanks a lot!

-Mike

Upcoming Nikon mirrorless cameras https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/899/upcoming-nikon-mirrorless-cameras Sat, 10 Sep 2011 00:12:18 +0000 Vitaliy_Kiselev 899@/talks/discussions Both bodies will be identical, except that one will have a self timer LED on the top right and different colors for the lens release button.
Nikon V1 will have a built-in high resolution EVF. The Nikon J1 will not have an EVF .

•Cameras will have both phase and contrast AF detection
•10.1MP
•ISO range: 100-3200 (with H1-6400)
•CCD sensor (WTF? It'll be CMOS for sure.)
•Both cameras will have 2.7x crop factor
•3 in. LCD screen
•The J1 model will have a built-in flash
•The V1 will not have a built-in flash but it will have a multi-accessory port which will support external flash and a GPS device
•No traditional flash hot shoe on both models
•There will be a F-mount adapter
•Both cameras will probably be made of plastic
•Full HD movie with many additional features
•EXPEED 3 processor with 600 megapixels per second processing power

The four mirrorless lenses are:
•10mm f/2.8 pancake lens
•10-30mm f/3.5-5.6 VR lens (very short and portable)
•10-100mm f/4.5-5.6 VR
•30-110mm VR

The company will price the mirrorless camera plus lens at 70,000 yen-100,000 yen ($900-$1,300), which is on a par with rivals’ offerings

The Second announcement is from Nikon (Nikonrumors). What started as a new line of camera to replace the d300 and d3, has now change to two full frame cameras. A d800 and D4 to replace the d700 and D3. Details are a bit more sketchy here. It is more of a 18megapixel $ 5000 D4 (low light, sport pg camera) and a $ 2500 24megapixel D800. On the video side, some are speculating of very strong video performance. As a Nikon professional photographer, I have been repeatably disappointed by Nikon, they are the still company that have everything to gain to put some ground breaking technology to take market share in the large sensor camera. The dslr revolution has brought a total new market that they could not have dreamed before. For now the market is not mature and people can change brand very rapidly. I hope that this time they will not miss the boat. Either one of these would be a basic minimum for me. A 10bit 422 high bitrate codec (or/and) An uncompressed 10bit 422 hdmi output that can be recorded by external recorders (or/and) At least a limited (time/buffer) HD raw output.

Some smart manager appeared at Nikon and wrote this. This is all I can say. :-)

As you may know Nikon will announce mirrorless cams with 2.7x sensors.
It is easy to prove as we can see m43 bashing (like constant motto of "no progress if m43 sensors in last two years" in each and every post) from Thom lately and fairy tales on how 2.7x sensor will be good.
Nikon is afraid, very afraid. Problem is that fans do not realize main ideas standing behind 2.7x sensor.

First idea. Price. All Japanese companies are now focused on small, less buttons and as cheap as possible in production cameras. Small sensor helps here.

Second and main idea. Most probably sensor resolution will be picked on such level that will render all but few best existing lenses unusable for photo usage. So you'll need to buy new ones from Nikon in any case. And you won't need to explain, like Sony, why you dont have AF adapters for old DSLR era lenses.]]>
