I got a slight flickering oscillation when filming still shooting on tripod ! ( as you can see in the video below) the flickering is not constant , sometimes slower sometimes faster

I did a video in ETC mode , to make more evident the bug , which is also present in normal mode , it shooted on a strong tripod , no wind (or earthquake LOL)

this happens to me only with pana zoom lenses I own ( 14-45mm OIS and 12-35mm OIS) not at all with manual lenses

I tried OIS on/off , AF manual , C and S , different film mode , shutter , aperture , I tried to change all the settings in the menu , nothing is changed

I don't think is about hack coz I tried to install a few , the only thing I didn't try is to install original stock firmware

This issue still also in photographic mode , still already in preview mode ( I mean also when you're not in recording mode)

When you make little movement with OIS "on" shaking stopping , then when you back to fixed shot after a few seconds it comeback again , momentanely shaking stopped happens also during manual focusing on MF mode

with 14-45mm it is happens only when I point the camera at the top (check out video below).

with 12-35mm almost always also in horizontal position ( I filmed 10min still shot , the shaking stopped after 3 minutes )

I dunno it sounds like a OIS or AF issues , but does not explain why he does it with both panasonic lenses with same bug but with a different behavior one from another , so I'm afraid that is about GH2 body .

I do not remember if this bug has always done , because I have not paid attention.

it's really hard for me to figure it out and explain well to you ,also cause I'm not speaking English very well.

Shot in 720p50, smooth -2,-2,0-2 As second camera we used a 60D with a wide angle lens. Even on Vimeo you can see the difference between those two cameras

Despite all my objections a client has insisted on shooting the GH2 in 30p, so I'm doing as told and want to make sure I have it down pat since I've only shot 1080p24 or 720p60 before. I set the mode to HBR NTSC and shot some test footage, but when I bring it into FCP (which is where the client will be editing the final project) and convert it to ProRes, it's 29.97 with Upper Fields. The footage I am to shoot is to be mixed with other footage all shot at 30p. Is the fix in FCP as simple as setting the fields of the individual converted prores files to none? Or should I do something with Cinema Tools to make the GH2 footage true 30p? I have tried to find this answer but to no avail.

I haven't picked one up myself yet but it looks promising and the price is certainly right.

I'm selling this lens because it has to make way for my new 50mm 1.4 Carl Zeiss, Beautifull sharpenss, the loved '3d' effect of Zeiss And ofcourse the near perfect colour rendering!

Glass has no marks, no scratches, no fungus, no dust no cleaning marks, simply clean! Cosmetical it has some wear, some number indicators are slightly marked, but nevertheless this is not a issue, you can still read the f-stops, and meterings.

Adapter to EF mount (EOS) and it's suitable for Fullframe, and all other canon dSLR's, note that this also works on Nikon fullframe, Nex 5,6,7 Gh1,2,3 and ofcourse the soon to come Black magic cinema camera.

I've started to think about how much difference is there between the original firmware and the hacks we get here. There sure are improvements but it often leads to higher bitrate > larger files > larger disks > less money. So I want to see if the hacks are worth the extra spaces it takes. I'm not skeptic about the hacks I just want to hear others opinions and comparisons.

In this thread it would be nice to see comparisons between the original firmware and different hacks. And yes, some hacks does not only improve the quality right from the camera though some can help you when it comes to grading for example. Maybe we can see grading comparisons of that as well?

So if you got pics or videos with comparisons of the original and some hacks, please use this thread to show that and keep this thread only for discussing these questions.

Finally released my first music video shot with the GH2. I ran the Driftwood Dark Matter patch on all shots. Not a single issue came up even once, the camera ran rock solid no matter what I threw at it.

For gear, I used my home made PVC should rig, Glidecam HD1000, and numerous vintage primes. I even managed to sneak in a few shots with a 2X Kowa anamorphic adapter, kept squeezed.

Musically, it's a little different compared to what I've seen on here. I tracked & produced the song, mix & master duty were handled by Fredrik Nordstrom & Henrik Udd at Studio Fredman.

BTW, if you're epileptic, I wouldn't recommend watching this :)

I have a shoot Saturday and temperatures are said to reach -20 °C. Batteries of course will only last a 1/3 of rated time, and condensation may become an issue. Any tips on how to deal with this, like getting the camera to temperature gradually?

I'd imagine the Panasonic specs relate to continuous core temperature and also have a small margin of tolerance. The humidity under your nice warm ski-jacket is really high! 3) Before returning into the warm indoors, remove the battery and memory card and put the camera back into the bag and leave in the bag until it has warmed up. This prevents condensation forming on the outside of the camera. The memory card has very little mass and not too subject to condensation . . . and you probably want to download pics/video without waiting for the camer to warm up - and, likewise get the battery on to recharge."

The Guide lines sadly can not have two horizontal bars as far as i know of.. I was hoping the hack would introduce some type of marking somewhere down the line- but since that does not seem to be possible, lets hear your method :)

I am interested in astronomy as well as wildlife and videography/sound recording/film making in general.

Does anyone know if I can connect my new Panasonic GH2 video camera to a telescope such as the Celestron SkyProdigy™ 130 Computerized Telescope, for catering stills and videos of the moon and distant wildlife such as deers, birds etc?

I have seen a number of videos where people have used a telescopic lens in conjunction with the GH2 to film the moon and wildlife. But I am interested to know whether or not it is possible to connect a whole telescope to the GH2...

Not terrible. I always try to shoot it as close to how I want it to look in Premiere. But, this time around, I experimented with some color grading. I can get into the details if need be. But, really, I'm just looking for opinions. Does this look bad? What would you change? Etc.
