Hey all -

Figured I'd share this with the GH2 interested community. Inspired by a post-holiday party hangover brunch, a friend and I called a few actor friends and shot this short in a single day. With one camera, one lens, a monopod, and no lighting except for the final night scene.

A warped retelling of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, in which a scumbag loan-shark learns the true meaning of Christmas. Barely.

A trailer for a filmproject I'm doing with some friends, that is now in post-production. Our first attempt at something with some kind of narrative, cast, crew ect.. We thought we could shoot it in 1 night, in the end it took two exhausting 12 hour shoots + shooting a lot of shots excluding cast. I have no idea if the end result will be anything to write home about, but mán we had such a laugh and learned so much!

You can't make out much from the trailer, as usual.

Tell me what you think!

Ps. It's kind of a sequel to a video we made for the Tomorrowland goldenticket contest, which the trailer refrences.(shown below under the trailer)

Sd card and hack patch combination?

I am new to the GH2 and the patches. It appears to be a lot of scattered info that is difficult pull together. So any help is greatly appreciated.

Here is my question... Which combination of SD card and patch work reliably together?

Here is my shooting scenario...

It will be mostly indoors (bar, bedroom), low light. I am using a Rokkor 1.4 50mm lense. We will use Adobe everything, on a Mac, for post.

The other big factor is that it will be screened in a theater. So quality is very important.

Thanks again as this camera is new thing for me and any advice is very welcome.

I had the chance to work with a great musician and friend Maneli Jamal to shoot a video of him performing his original song Cold Arrival.

He plays a very niche type of acoustic guitar called fingerstyle guitar ( Andy Mckee, Don Ross, Michael Hedges to name a few)

This was with the GH2, Flowmotion 2.0, Canon FD 24mm f2.8 and a wicked musician!

Let me know what your thoughts are on the grade and overall shoot!

This is the first paid gig I have gotten a chance to use my GH3 on so was really excited to get out and see how it performed.

Overall I was really happy with how it handled the shoot from being on a crane, steadicam, handheld, and tripod.

The only problem I had which was my own fault, was that I left "continuous autofocus" turned on even though I was on the manual focus setting and it did hunt a few times. I have since turned it off.

Thanks to this forum and the work from Vitaliy and the other developers, I have been able to have access to some amazing settings for the GH series cameras and really start learning about shooting.

Up until I got my GH1 2 years ago, I was shooting primarily on a Sony NX5U which was a very video oriented machine.

Since then, I feel I have begun taking a more cinematic approach to my videos and putting a lot more time into the composition and editing of my shots.

Hi, I'm a photographer and just bought a GH2 to practice my video skills. I previously did a couple of jobs as a dop using a 5Diii, a black magic and a C300 and what I'm looking at to get from the GH2 is the maximum quality. I don't need to shoot lengthy segments but I need the best image (especially in dark environment). I know I probably will never get the quality of a ML 5Diii, C300 or BMCC but this is for practice and personal projects. Could anyone suggest a few hacks?

Hello all, as, looking to a multiple number of posts, I haven't found an answer, I look for an answer.
Meaning, technically, what would take to have the gh2 encoding in AVCHDintra 10bit?
Does the camera lack of processor juice? Is it too complex programming wise? All of these combined? Developers need more supports?
And please no aswer like "Ask Santa for next Christmas" or similar.

I have been shooting a skateboarding part over the last Summer of 2013 in Vienna.

GH2 was equipped with Moon T5 and T7, GH3 in MOV 50P mode and the camcorder was in AVCHD 50P and 28Mbit/s 50p. I am really satisfied with these cameras, but color correction and matching was really tricky with the camcorder. The codec fell apart as well unfortunatly.

Panasonic Lumix GH2 with kit lens 14-42mm - Barely used (shutter count about 3400) and comes with all original accessories and box

4x extra batteries

Gini GH2 cage - Barely used.

Lens mount adapter (Nikon to M43) - Barely used, comes with support bracket (from ciecio7 - ebay).

Rainbow H6X8-II 8-48mm f1 lens - New with M43 mount, front and rear caps. It was only used when the M43 mount was installed (to adjust infinite focus).

My girlfriend fundraised for Alzheimer's Research UK and did a 450km, 10 day cycle challenge from the North to the South of Vietnam.

It was filmed on the Panasonic GH2 with Olympus Zuiko 45mm f/1.8 and Panasonic 20mm f/1.7....also a GoPro HD.

GH2 Problems and Issues topic

Does anyone have any problems with their GH2 ? like excessive grain - banding - glitches.
I have my second GH2 and when i first got it I had problems with it Glitching badly crazy colors and lines etc. I applied the Hack 42mb standard to see if it would help it records but wont playback in camera.
The Glitching as gone not sure if it was because of the Hack ? as it still had glitches when first applied was next day on trying that they went away, but I see banding in plain surfaces quite bad really I have not experienced this in any other camera.
I convert to ProRes HQ through FCP not sure if this is helping to cause this effect ?
Also I am not able to apply any more patches even to revert back to original it just says no media to play.
This is strange as I have applied many different patches in the past ?
Any insight or recommendations would be great.

The camera is in great shape and comes with: 1 GH2 (obviously) grey, hacked (can return firmware to stock or any patch on request) 3 Panasonic batteries, all keep full charge, 1 Panasonic charger like new, 1 64GB Sandisk Pro Extreme SD card - this is the king, what you need for driftwood's and others top shelf patches. Has yet to fail me. 1 Fujinon Pegasus III B4 lens w/ rubber hood and hand brace 1 Cieco7 B4 -> m4/3 adapter with tripod mount 1 77mm circular polarizer, uv filter and homemade vari-nd

Everything is in great working order, and good to great cosmetically. The lens covers the equivalent of 31mm-438mm, a 14x range! This lens is a legend and a workhorse, not clinically sharp, but still holds great detail, especially in the center... a great match to the super sharp GH2. Comes with hand mount and the power zoom should work fine if hooked up to a 12v power source.

I'd prefer to sell as a set, but would be willing to part it out if the lens were to sell first. Asking $885

Hello guys!! I’m new here and wanted to share my bad experience with my GH2 last days: I’ve been using DW quantum b2 patch since February this year, but now something happened that started to give me issues: 1- It won’t record continuously for more than 5min on 24H (154mbps) and less than 1min on 24L(40mbps) and 720p SH (80mbps) modes. I use a Sony SDHC 16gb card rated at 45mb/s write speed. 2- It won’t let me upload any new firmware on the camera, neither patched one nor original V1.1. And I’m pretty sure I’m doing things wright here. When I press play it will just prompt “no valid picture to play” Repeat, I’ve been using this patch and bitrates since February with not issues, just now that I tried some changes on audio settings… Filmed one day without problems and then… Sh*#t happened.

I will appreciate any opinions from someone who has had the same problem or knows how to solve it. Many thanks!!
