When will Panasonic Vario PZ 45-175mm f/4.0-5.6 get Dual I.S. firmware update? https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/15993/when-will-panasonic-vario-pz-45-175mm-f4.0-5.6-get-dual-i.s.-firmware-update Fri, 04 Nov 2016 01:18:01 +0000 bealbuoy 15993@/talks/discussions I have been patiently waiting for the Dual I.S. firmware update that was suppose to arrive in February 2016 for the Panasonic 45-175 along with two other lens. I can find no information about when or even if they will ever arrive besides originally posting it will arrive in February 2016. Does anyone know what is going on with these three updates? I really like the 45-175mm lens, and really look forward to Dual I.S. for it. If it will never occur will someone please tell me.

Monitoring two inputs / dslrs on monitor https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/12149/monitoring-two-inputs-dslrs-on-monitor Sun, 11 Jan 2015 15:29:58 +0000 vonkuttenberg2 12149@/talks/discussions is there any affordable monitor with two SDI/HDMI inputs or nice solution to monitor two cameras same time on one monitor? to have something like picture in picture / split mode for director? decimator quad is the way but quite expensive and can input only SDI which is not ideal for DSLR... any "quad" or monitor accepting 2x HDMI signals?

Recommendations for Editing Stations under $3K? https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/967/recommendations-for-editing-stations-under-3k Fri, 16 Sep 2011 16:16:00 +0000 qwerty123 967@/talks/discussions
I'm looking to invest in a new computer editing station with dual monitors. I'm looking at Premiere CS5.5 as my main NLE. I don't want to spend more than $3,000 (and preferably not too much more than $2,500). EDIT: I'm specifically looking at getting a PC but discussion about mac or hackintosh are okay too!

I'm guessing some people are in or will be in my situation in the future, so let's start a thread to think of options and recommendations. Ideas? (let's also not turn this into a flame war of mac vs pc vs linux, or fcp vs adobe vs avid!)]]>
Best Small Dual Recording Recorder and Best Zero Handling Lav Mic? https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/11063/best-small-dual-recording-recorder-and-best-zero-handling-lav-mic Sun, 17 Aug 2014 00:50:36 +0000 matt_gh2 11063@/talks/discussions I'm going to be working on a project where the actor will have a lav mic hard wired to a small recorder, and both recorder and lav will be hidden on actor. What I need is the best small dual recording recorder (by dual recording I mean the ability to record the lav to 2 separate channels, 1 at one level, and another one lower volume level, in case the actor yells and clips/blows out the sound). I also need the best lav mic that has the closest to zero handling noise as the actor may be moving vigorously with animated gestures. What would you recommend. (No wireless lavs here, I'm looking for hard wired.)

Thanks in advance, Matt

Is it possible to hook the gh2 up to two hdmi monitors with a splitter, and record?

Cheap 2nd graphics card with 2xDual Link Dvi suggestions? https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/5418/cheap-2nd-graphics-card-with-2xdual-link-dvi-suggestions Sat, 08 Dec 2012 18:18:31 +0000 qwerty123 5418@/talks/discussions So, I have a gigabyte 660 ti 2gb ram card that is currently doing double duty as both GUI for two dual link dvi monitors and as the processing CUDA card for premiere (and resolve). I hope to free up the 660ti just for processing and run my GUIs out of a cheap second card that can handle two 27" monitors. (I could also, maybe, live with one dual-link dvi and one vga, although this isn't optimal--I see some people recommend the gt120).

Does anyone have suggestions for a 2nd card like this? I imagine that others are going to be in a similar situation to me so hopefully this question helps others. Thanks!

Anyone used a Lockit Buddy? https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/2581/anyone-used-a-lockit-buddy Wed, 14 Mar 2012 22:14:08 +0000 B3Guy 2581@/talks/discussions Hey, everyone! The rental house where I am interning just picked up a "Lockit Buddy", and I was just wondering if anyone else is using these or is aware of their capabilities. Its basically a small box that takes in timecode and sends that to your camera's audio track, essentially enabling proper dual-system timecode synched audio on DSLR type cameras that otherwise would not have timecode. OF course you must edit in a software that supports audio timecode, but the site lists Avid and FCP both as software that have this ability. I'll be testing this nifty little thing out in the near future, so I'll re port back when I've used it ia bit more, but I just thought it sounded like something very useful.
