GH1

We want to allow to change some of the matrixes

Cameras without manual video modes

Introduce manual video. Current idea is to inherit your stills settings upon pressing video record button.

All cameras

New round of work considering film modes (or picture modes).
Display of hack name in the version information screen.

P.S. Right now, and some time in August I am at the rest. :-)

4K Downscaling progress topic

I couldn't find anything dedicated (and I may have missed something important) so: This is a topic dedicated solely for any kind of progress updates on software, code and methods to downscale 4k with best possible results to help people establish a workflow for converting 4k footage. Meanwhile, it may be a good idea to also map the best downscaling methods that already exist.

Into the Full HD world, our GH2 camera and Panasonic processor have still much to give us. This new hack is based upon my personal Gop 1 development. But almost every single parameter has been adapted to match some original and extreme choices. I made all possible to get a neat and rich picture. It has been a step-by-step hard work. In particular the hbr mode was very difficult to manage. To tell the truth, I didn't touch the 1080i60 and 720p60 modes, which are taken by Apefos' The End patch.
I hope that somebody will find useful and beautiful our new used GH2.

First good news. It looks like all video related setup routines in GH2 work in RAM, instead of ROM for older models.

Status as of Aufust, 2013

GH3 - working on making dump
FZ200 - some work done, but needs public firmware for PTool patches development
LX7 - some work done, but needs public firmware for PTool patches development
GF5 - some work done, but needs public firmware for PTool patches development
GH2 - small fixes in video patches, understanding film modes - working on it
GX1 - needs some fixes in MP4 side, manual video modes - working on it
G3 - same as GX1
G5 - in plans, firmware available.
G6 - in plans, firmware available.
GF6 - in plans, firmware available.

P.S. I'll try to keep it in updated state and will add more detail

This topic is decicated to my direct requests to make specific testing.

As all Pro topics it is intended to testers who want to help and understand that they are doing.
If you do not understand, either ask or just read and wait.

Active points:
* Try to format SD card using exFAT file system
* Check how it works in GH2
* Combine two large MOV files making them >2Gb, and >4Gb. Check if they can be played back in camera.

GH1 body for Chris

Guys, who have extra GH1.
I am searching for someone who could provide GH1 body for Chris (he'll return it if it won't be bricked :-) ).
He is mostly focused on film modes research and having body at hand and making risky patches could speed it up very considerable.
Results will be very useful for GH2 and other camera users, because film modes implementation is very similar among them.
