I know both are two great optics. The Nokton lens is tested with the GH2, the PanaLeica've seen a few videos, references and analysis in the video section. I think the Nokton is manual, so it is more than indificated video stills, and PanaLeica is suitable for photo and video.

I'm saving for the Nokton, but its price is a bit prohibitive -at least for my third world economy-, PanaLeica wanted to know if it is a good option and I can get a result close and as cinematic as the Nokton or the step and go straight to the Nokton.

I would like to arguments for and against each.

Super clean Voigtlander 25mm .95 for Micro Four Thirds cameras. This thing is by far my favorite lens, only selling it because it wont interface with my new fullframe camera, I want to use my glass on the GH2 and MKIII. It has minor use, original box and receipts, no internal dust, original lens caps and hood. Its had a UVC filter on from day one. Any dust you see is external. PM me if interested.

Voigtlander Nokton 25mm F/0.95 for the Micro Four Thirds system with great delivery for portrait photography and film, nice scenic shots, it has been designed for MFT and you don't need to use any adapter. The Lens is manual performs like a champion, it operates perfectly and the glass is in perfect mint condition with no fungus dust or scratches 10+, the aperture ring is super smooth, well kept.

The barely has a tiny minor cosmetic dent that does not effect any operation of the lens.

I have to let this baby go... this is really a good chance to have it. This lens works in a perfect manner.

I'm the first owner, the lens comes in the box with the proof of purchase and with everything that came with it.... $750

Hesitations between two lenses to complete my kit

Hi guys, I know it will sound weird/stupid but I'm trying to decide which lens between Tokina 11-16 and Voigtlander 25 Nokton f.95 will better fit my needs and complete my kit... Theses two pieces of glass are totally different but both have pros that seduce me. I own a nikkor 35 f1.8 and nikkor 40 f2.8 macro. Here why I'm hesitating :

The tokina produces wide shots with a relatively fast aperture, but I'm not sure it will mix well with 35mm (transition between Tokina wide shots and nikkor "close-up" shots will be hard)

The Voigtlander's focal length fits better my actual kit, the super fast aperture gives a dreamy look that I love (I mostly shoot experimental stuffs, fictionnal shorts), this lens seems to be extremely polyvalent, some says it's a workhorse for the GH2. OTOH it's not that wide...

So I'd like to know if you guys think (considering my actual kit) it's better to go for a wide lens or for a more "versatile" lens like the voigtlander.

50 mm in academy ratio - Hitchcock / Ozu with a GH2

You know that lots of masterpieces had been shooted only with a "normal" lens: just think of Hitchcock's Psycho or Ozu's film. I am "studying" Ozu's films realized using only a 50mm; many people believe it's necessary to get a 25 mm on GH2 (due to crop factor) in order to emulate Ozu's look , however I've found this discussion on the net:

50 in academy ratio is actually what a 50 on a GH2 would give... Or almost. A GH2 is the same size as academy matted to 1.78:1 (so horizontally and DoF characteristics are the same, but different vertically). Speaking of which... Hitchcock used a 50 almost exclusively in the 50s and 60s, so a 50 on a GH2 is more or less identical to what you'd get in Psycho.

I feel a bit confused...should I get a 50mm or a 25 mm?

Problem follow focus and Optical Panasonic/GH2

Hi all, I did my first work with the GH2 Panasonic Leica 25mm Summilux + but using the follow focus that I had just arrived, and then tested for the first time on the field, I encountered the following problem: focus can not be done with the classic signs of the white disc follow focus because the lens gear, remember that it is mechanical, no correspondence between the movement and the fact the actual increase in focus so I've often found with the adapter ring on the lens all the way up. After checking that follow focus has no mechanical problems I've found that moving quickly or slowly the wheel focusing optics is obtained more or less increase in focus depending on the speed of action and thus rendering useless the same ff if not for an operating comfort. Does anyone have suggestions? thanks

My budget for lenses isn't much more than $1200... I love the look of the Nokton along with the fact that it'll fare well in low light, but I want to get a decently fast wide lens as well. Is there any reason why I couldn't just plop a .45x adapter on the end of this lens and have myself a 50mm and 22.5mm equivalent in one lens...

Hi all,

I'm just about to purchase a GH2 and i've been considering a few lenses.

First is the summilux 25mm f1.4 which from what i have read is an outstanding lens for stills but no IS... From what i've read in various posts it also suffers from 'breathing' issues. I have read that this can be fixes buy un-selcting CAF! Is this really the case? Any good examples?

I've also looked at the Oly 45mm f1.8 but no IS and i want to start with a fairly versatile lens video/photo. I will defo purchase this lens in the coming months for portrait exhibition coming in june!

Next is the panny 14 to 140mm which seems to be offering best of both world ie: video/photo but at the cost of SDOF

I'm looking only at m4/3 lenses with AF so no need to mention the wonders of the Voigt f0.95 as i'm well aware of its capabilities and will be one i will get in time! I first need to settle in, in the new format!

My maximum budget is around £1150 for camera + lens

I look forward to hearing our ideas/thoughts
