  • Shipments of LCD TVs by Taiwan-based makers fell 45.2% sequentially to 4.65 million units in the first quarter of 2020, affected mainly by seasonality and the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic in China.

Global shipments of OEM TVs by the world's top-14 OEM makers plunged 28% on year to 13.8 million units in the first quarter of 2020.

TPV Technology (Xiaomi and Vizio manufacturer) became the top vendor for OEM TVs in the quarter with shipments totaling 2.29 million units, down 18% from a year earlier.

TCL SCBC ranked second with shipments reaching 2.26 million units, down 12% on year.

Foxconn Electronics was third, seeing its shipments fall 38% to 1.75 million units.

Fourth-place Shenzhen MTC saw its shipments decline 6% to 1.32 million units.

Shipment prospects of OEM TVs are more pessimistic for the second quarter 2020, with overall shipments likely to tumble 30-40% from the levels seen a year earlier.
