High Speed 10 bit RAW 2.5K camera with a 1 inch sensor, $1600
  • The FPS1000 looks promising, at least the Gold and Platinum models. There are 8 days left of the Kickstarter. The 290fps 720p sprinkler video from the "Gold" model looks nice. The 200 fps 1080p video from the "Platinum" model looks like something may have gone wrong when uploading to the web. There is a weird banding thing going on in the footage. I'm personally waiting for better 1080p footage before I buy. Anyway many stretch goal were reached and there is now going to be an internal battery, better case, 3D option, and a high speed expansion port for a future high speed media module or to connect to a PC for longer takes.

  • Also for people like myself with Nikon G glass, MTF Services has a high quality Nikon G to C-Mount adapter. If I end up buying the Platinum FPS1000, I will buy this adapter as well.

  • Graham Rowen's (FPS1000 creator) quote regarding the banding in the 1080 video:

"Please don't stress too much over this. Remember you are seeing this product in the final stages of development and is not quite perfect yet. These imperfections will be ironed out before final production. There is a small amount of feedback from digital logic to the very sensitive analogue sensor. The noise level is less than 2 lsbs and will be totally eradicated with an improved digital to analogue power plane decoupling. It is normal for designs to go through several iterations to solve these problems. In fact the fps1000 is remarkably clean for a first iteration layout. These issues are common - have a search for FPN (fixed pattern noise) on the Black Magic 4K for a recent example. The FPN on the fps1000 is incredibly good - there is no perceptible noise on the black level. I am being completely transparent and showing you the camera how it really is. I'm not masking any problems in post production. Thank you again for your support and helping to make the fps1000 the best low cost high frame rate camera on the market."

    Thanks for the idea, @Brian202020
BTW, I have seen on eBay Germany such adapters for just a fragment of the price (under 40€)

  • they now offer a 4k 240fps upgrade!
