One has to sort through several threads and weigh different reports. And with new cards coming, such as the Sony SDXCs and the newer cards for the 4K cameras, it'd be a big help to pull this info together.

Could we get a dedicated thread, or formal FAQ, going about this? A list of cards, their read/write speeds and general reliability? Names of patches and which cards they work with?

For example: "Sandisk Extreme Pro 32gb: Form: SDHC Read: 95mbps Write: 90mbps Spans with: basic firmware, Cake 2.3 ( both 24fps and HBR modes) Does NOT span with: MoonT7, quantum v9 Known Issues:

Transcend SDXC stable GH2 settings http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/1307/transcend-sdxc-stable-gh2-settings Sat, 29 Oct 2011 12:28:59 +0000 act 1307@/talks/discussions It is optimal memory card with modern SDXC file system 64GB, very good price, good brand, lifetime warranty, but not fast as Sandisk Extreme 30MB/s
or Sandisk Extreme pro 45MB/s pricy 32GB cards.
Unfortunately some better and faster settings failure with card speed problem.
But some of settings works well but record stops at file size reaches 4GB.
Good stable setting for this card needed for events shooting, weddings or shows, there 20 minutes on 32GB card is not enough.
One event day for me is maximum 4-5 hours of footage for one camera.
I would like use no more than 2x64GB cards for that.
It would be 24p, but it's important for me also 50p(60p) mode works as well.
Thank you!

Transcend Ultimate 600x UHS-I cards http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/7539/transcend-ultimate-600x-uhs-i-cards Wed, 17 Jul 2013 05:23:29 +0000 Athiril 7539@/talks/discussions Okay so I bought a pair of Transcend Ultimate 16GB SDHC UHS-I cards at work (the 600x/90mb/s ones not the 86mb/s ones).

Since they were quite cheap at work.

Anyway, first test out of the box, using the SD card reader built into my laptop (which does have a USB 3.0 bus, but I dont know if the card reader runs over that, or how good the card reader is).

CrystalDiskMark, 2 tests @ 1000MB

Sequential read 70.19MB/s Sequential write 37.42MB/s

SDHC and UHS Readers for USB 3.0 http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/1261/sdhc-and-uhs-readers-for-usb-3.0- Mon, 24 Oct 2011 14:27:52 +0000 tonalt 1261@/talks/discussions
My desktop computer doesn't have USB 3.0 ports. Transfer speed with old Hama USB 2.0 SD card reader was pretty slow.

Test file to transfer: 3,95GB compressed video
SD card: Sandisk Extreme Pro 32GB 45MB/s

USB 2.0
-------
Write: 6min 36seconds
Read: 6min 39seconds

Then I bought this http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150601052134 USB 3.0 reader. Cost only ~18$ including shipping. And for USB 3.0 SD card reader I chose Transcend TS-RDF8K http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220851168839 . Cost ~23$ including shipping.

USB 3.0
-------
Write: 1min 51seconds
Read: 1min 34seconds

I'm happy with the results. Test setup computer's SSD is OCZSSD2-2VTXE120G.]]>
