Anker USB 3.0 Card Reader review

I bought one of these because Vitaliy posted a discount code. I instantly regretted it since I have at least seven or eight card readers, but what the hey, in for a penny, as they say.
In many respects, it looks like the ubiquitous Transcend model and costs about the same. One annoying feature is that the label is on the wrong side, so when you load a card you face the label the other way. No biggie.
Compared to the Transcend, the Anker is a tiny bit faster in transfer speeds, but only by a few percent. The Transcend is smaller, thinner, lighter and has a better fit. The Anker will also copy from a regular sized SD to a micro SD. So, not a speed demon but perfectly fine. I slightly prefer the Transcend but they are very similar.
Note that if you are a heavy SD card user, heat is an issue. I use the Transcend because it runs fairly cool; these cards can get really hot if you are offloading hours of footage.
Avoid the Lexar style or any design that covers up the whole card: the card needs air to stay cool. It's a bit snug. I mention this because there is always a small risk if you have a tight connector that you can damage something.

Can be very useful acessory, considering that modern tablets usually do not have full sized SD reader.

Card formatting for better reliability

Hi everyone,
it is my first post so be gentle.
Ever since the hack came out, I have mostly been trying the highest bitrate settings and have spent most of my time with 65000 with no card read/write errors. This was really great since I only have 1 card.
I have used my card for other things too (watch movies reformatting to NTFS etc) and have noticed the performance going down....
To cut the long story short, if you need (and I know you do) your card to be as good as new or better, you need to do a THOROUGH format every now and then. Use the CCleaner's Drive Wiper option (takes about 25 minutes on my one and only great 16GB card) and it really will wipe the s**t out of it. Then you just pop it into your GH2 and format to it's heart's desires and it is fast as hell.
CCleaner is free, you just need to go to the "drive wiper" section and format your card.
Hope this helps, as many people have been complaining about the write/read errors and I have never had them. My card is the el cheapo Transcend 16GB 10 class BTW.
QUESTION: Anyone has this card in the 32GB version? Please advise if the performance is the same.

SDHC and UHS Readers for USB 3.0

Didn't find a topic so started new one.

My desktop computer doesn't have USB 3.0 ports. Transfer speed with old Hama USB 2.0 SD card reader was pretty slow.

Test file to transfer: 3,95GB compressed video
SD card: Sandisk Extreme Pro 32GB 45MB/s

USB 2.0

Fast Express Card SD reader for GH2 footage

I needed a fast card R/W for workflow on jobs with all these high bit rates. I was looking for a firewire card reader/writer but could not find one. I've been using a 7D with A FW card R/W works great. I came a cross the Sonnet card at B&H but it was $99.00. Very expensive I thought but a must for my workflow.
I went to Sonnet's website. found it for &49.95 . Shipping was extra I think &9.95. So $60.00 US dollars. Make sure to download the drivers for your PC or Mac. The drivers were not installed for me. I'm on a Mac. There is one for $29.95 but it doesn't except the the faster cards from my understanding.
