Hard to believe Kodak mismanaged their invention so poorly.

Working cameramen producers prod managers editors onliners sound etc http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/7986/working-cameramen-producers-prod-managers-editors-onliners-sound-etc- Mon, 02 Sep 2013 12:49:02 +0000 test1 7986@/talks/discussions Apparently it's an abhorrent thought, that you've worked for 20 years making tea to actually WORK in in film TV etc to try and build a career in the established media - just interested who's done the long hours driving up and down the country and popping the tea bag in here? Not intending to incite the usual forum extremity waving - just interested actually how many people face clients daily as a job.

Anamorphic Pairing http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/6878/anamorphic-pairing Fri, 03 May 2013 12:04:06 +0000 UnTalGalvis 6878@/talks/discussions Well, hello there.

I've been studying Filmmaking for a year and a half now in Colombia and just recently bought a camera (A GH2). My lens collection is almost non existent, with only the 14-42 kit lens and an old Canon FD 50mm 1.8 ridden with fongus, and I'd like to start one.

Because of the look and overall feeling (Also, very rare in the indie/0 budget short film scene in my country) I'd like to go the anamorphic route. However, it is downright impossible to get an anamorphic lens here, so I don't have the chance to try one and then decide if I like it. I have to make those decisions online.

What I'd like to ask is what combinations of taking lens+Anamorphic has given you people the best results?

My two options right now are: Getting an SLR Magic Hyperprime 35mm T0.95 lens now and, after I get my savings account back in shape from that heavy blow, get an anarphic lens to use with it.

Or, getting one of the Dog Schidt lenses - https://www.facebook.com/DogSchidtOptiks?fref=ts -, which are much cheaper and have loads of character AND an anamorphic lens (With clamps, diopters and such)

Anyway, if there's already a thread like this, feel free to close this one up.

Thank you, guys.

Best first hack settings for holiday footage http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/3818/best-first-hack-settings-for-holiday-footage Sat, 07 Jul 2012 18:24:07 +0000 jimtreats 3818@/talks/discussions Hey everyone.

I've been following along the hacking progress for well over a year now but have still yet to make the switch and try a hack out.

I'm going to go to Paris next week for a holiday and am taking my GH2. I was planning to go stock, but i figure it'd be nice to get some more quality, and some higher ISO access.

My question is which setting is the best for me to try first. I'll be shooting with a mix of transcend cards, class 6 and class 10. I guess i'll have to go for class 6 safe settings then. I want maximum stability, and dont want the filesize to balloon up too much as i'll have limited cards with me.

I'll go ahead and scour the forum some, but i've been a bit out of it lately so would appreciate some recommendations of super stable first attempt hacks for this sort of situation.

Cheers

New to ALL of this... http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/2698/new-to-all-of-this... Mon, 26 Mar 2012 15:49:22 +0000 MisterBink 2698@/talks/discussions Im about to buy the Panasonic GH2. The hack info that I've found so far astounds me, especially the high bitrates, the 4K, and the 4x3 aspect because I shoot with anamorphic lenses and the 16x9 aspect is too squashed. Anyway, I'm trying to do all this for the first time, and coming from a Canon Magic Lantern background, I'm really keen to try. Anyone got some helpful tips and advice out there? Sorry for the huge NUBE sticker on my forehead! Thanks in advance everyone!
