GH2 moon T7 problems with photos http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/23506/gh2-moon-t7-problems-with-photos Sun, 09 Feb 2020 12:12:00 +0000 kot0991 23506@/talks/discussions The firmware moon T7, the video recording quality is excellent, everything is clear, sharp, the lenses are clean, without dust and scratches. But the photos turn out bad, I didn’t try to adjust the photo settings, it wasn’t detailed and not clear, the jpeg codec was pinched, raw is not very good either. I tried to install the official firmware and reset to factory settings - it did not help. Does moon T7 firmware affect the quality of the photo, Flow Motion v2 also tried, the same everywhere, Help with the settings, or on the GH2 all just shoot video? https://yadi.sk/d/b6O3QXzwNgU1-A

GH2 bit rate problems http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/21555/gh2-bit-rate-problems Sat, 16 Feb 2019 03:38:45 +0000 LunaNa 21555@/talks/discussions Good day. Help is needed. Before the firmware, the camera wrote a video with a bitrate of about 22,000. Is always. After flashing the camera all the time to issue a different bit rate. If I rent in the studio sometimes gives 9 thousand. If the light is low about 15-20 thousand. Sometimes, right after the firmware, it gives out 39 or so. But it happens on a pair of frames. Then the bitrate falls again. I tried to flash again on the official firmware, but the bitrate still jumps.

Replacement for the stock battery for G7, GH2, possibly the new G85 http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/15833/replacement-for-the-stock-battery-for-g7-gh2-possibly-the-new-g85 Sun, 02 Oct 2016 11:32:48 +0000 DrDave 15833@/talks/discussions Actually, a good replacement for the stock battery. Maybe more. For G7, GH2 &c. possibly the new G85

I use a lot of the BLC12 Batteries. I buy the Panasonic ones; they aren't cheap but they last the longest and don't turn the camera off with no warning.
However, I do buy aftermarket batteries for testing from time to time. They often have very high ratings, and they never work very well.
A few years ago, I bought the DSTE "1600mah" battery. It had about 70 percent of the stock battery's power, and the stock battery is 1200 mah. So that's 840mah, or about half the advertised capacity.
A few weeks ago, I purchased the 1700 mah version at this link:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MEAMBQU
It weighs 55 gm as opposed to the stock 50gm. Previous clones weighed 46 and 48 gm.
Now before you get excited, the extra weight is probably ballast, since you can't squeeze more cells into a battery, as a general rule.
However, after extensive testing, this battery is equal to--not better--but equal to stock. The only difference is that the shutdown curve is a bit steeper.
So it isn't "1700" mah, but it is basically a stock battery.
This was quite a shock, but I repeated the tests several times. In one test, I simply turn on the camera and record video until the battery croaks, and measure the time. Both the stock battery and the DSTE run the G7 for two hours of video, sometimes a few minutes more, sometimes a few minutes less. So, finally, an inexpensive option. At least for this batch. Also, see my post on the cheap external battery that will run your camera all day.

Hello. Old Lumix GH2. Mounting a lens out of a Minolta super 8 camera to work on the gh3 http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/8821/mounting-a-lens-out-of-a-minolta-super-8-camera-to-work-on-the-gh3 Mon, 18 Nov 2013 20:27:42 +0000 tylerknight 8821@/talks/discussions I recently took apart my Minolta xl400 super 8 film camera after seeing that the lens was an f1.2 constant zoom 8.5-34mm

I am going to attempt to make an adapter for it, but as of right now the focal distance is almost 6 inches so I am going to need some sort of reducer lens assembly to get it closer to the sensor.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how I could do this?

I have tried a macro step lens kit, tried taking out the rear assembly out of some old broken lenses to see if they would do the trick and unfortunately with them on it vignettes too much to use.

The closest thing I have found was a 50mm f4 development enlargement lens but still vignettes and obviously reduces that 1.2 to a much higher Fstop.

I would really appreciate some input from anyone who has attempted to make adapters themselves! This would make for the fastest wide angle ever!!

think 1.2 at 8.5mm

TASTY!

GH2 to Macbook for live monitoring - wired options? http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/7209/gh2-to-macbook-for-live-monitoring-wired-options Mon, 10 Jun 2013 11:11:04 +0000 Social 7209@/talks/discussions Hi all,

I've been looking around for info on how to use my new 2013 macbook pro to show live video primarily, and images if possible, that are being recorded/photographed live from my GH2... essentially using my Macbook as a monitor.

There is a thread on PV that is a couple of years old which I have posted to, but through I'd open this up as a new topic as well, as I'm sure there are people out there in GH2 land who could do with this info as well. Here's a link to the original topic: http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/1207/gh2-live-streaming-solutions/p1

I'm hoping that in the 2 years since the original thread, the tech options have moved on. My macbook has thunderbolt, which, from experience connecting macbook to tv, works well with hdmi, and as thunderbolt connectivity can be used to transfer data from a hard drive back and forth, it must be a 2 way connection, so theoretically should allow for possible hdmi data being inputed to my mac.

I am relatively new to this and am trying to gather information, as this forum has been so informative in the past, I wanted to ask you guys what you would do in my situation? I would appreciate cheaper options if possible, primarily wired options as from scouring the web, there are issues with data signal interruptions and signal distance on wireless options.... plus wired is, I expect, considerably cheaper!

Can you help?

Thanks, Rob

GH2 holding its ground with Epic http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/4999/gh2-holding-its-ground-with-epic Fri, 26 Oct 2012 11:49:04 +0000 ronmen 4999@/talks/discussions Hey guys, just thought you'd like to see some spots we shot on a Red Epic with a $40,000 Arri Alura 15.5 - 45mm lens and a GH2 with the Sanity 5 patch and a $100 Canon 85mm FD SSC prime lens. These are fairly low res files for web delivery but the high res footage looked great too. Here are the four spots:

http://www.nixhealth.com/home/reform

The Epic was used for the wide and medium shots, the GH2 was used for the CU cutaways on the face and hands. I think the footage cuts very well. 'Just goes to show that you don't need to spend $100K on a camera package to get very nice results.

GH2 Questions from Canon user http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/4245/gh2-questions-from-canon-user Tue, 14 Aug 2012 11:45:57 +0000 Shawnthefilmguy 4245@/talks/discussions Hello everyone this is my first post here, I use canons alot so i know exposure, iso, apture My main problem i was told this camera shot 24p but i took a few videos with it and loaded it up in preimere and see its interlaced. Is there some mode that im missing seems like all the modes seem foreign to me. Ive shot with hbr mode and a few others. I got the drewnet patch Im hearing all this talk of GOP im going to be researching this group of pictures.

I also noticed when I get the colors how i like them and hit record the whole camera color changes a little to a green tent to it.

Those are my main problems. also what was your first impressions of the camera if your a nikon or canon that came over to the gh2. or just anyone really. Im going to be looking more into these topics after this post I looked into the color problem but found nothing. and the progresive and interlaced. I know in premiere i can change it to P but is this really shotting a Progressive Just seems strange to me. just never had this problem im just confused. I see all these great videos with nice colors and when seeing mine with its green tint is just a let down.

also if you can suggest the most used patch that has the best quality as in being more reliable and has good quality also

Best "All Around" settings for the GH2 as of March 21st. Please help http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/2641/best-all-around-settings-for-the-gh2-as-of-march-21st.-please-help Wed, 21 Mar 2012 01:02:48 +0000 dmedia 2641@/talks/discussions Hey everyone. Noob here. I worked with the hacked GH1 sometime ago. However, I've got a shoot this weekend and thanks to budget constraints and some of YOUR AWESOME footage with the GH2, the shoot is moving forward with said camera.

My issue: With all the various patches, it's quite overwhelming. Unfortunately, I have VERY limited time to play around and test prior to the shoot dates.

What is the best "all around", go-to patch as of current? I've seen tons of great samples displaying Driftwood's patches. There's just so many...

I'm working with some Zeiss ZF lenses and Transcend Extreme 16gb cards. Looking to possibly include some 60fps shots for slow motion and time ramping here and there as well....

Any help is extremely appreciated. Thanks everyone.
