I can live with the two exposures being bracketed, doesn't have to be identical. I see no route to control this in camera or with a remote, correct me if I'm wrong. Many thanks.

Audio gain per channel? or even real audio bracketing? http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/15238/audio-gain-per-channel-or-even-real-audio-bracketing Sat, 18 Jun 2016 14:32:32 +0000 gcb 15238@/talks/discussions Most audio recorders have the option to have a low pass filter on one channel when saving stereo audio from a mono source. Some just leave one channel with less gain, etc. Here is an example of such feature (copy and paste otherwise this forum will insert the video here and ignore the time mark) youtu.be/aShfKT155EY?t=2m42s

Can i get anything similar on the GH2 with hacks? The faq does mention Gain control access, but it doesn't go deeper.

Btw, feel free to redirect me to dev threads. i am pretty comfortable with embed electronics and programming (just not much with the GH2, yet)

Best Small Dual Recording Recorder and Best Zero Handling Lav Mic? http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/11063/best-small-dual-recording-recorder-and-best-zero-handling-lav-mic Sun, 17 Aug 2014 00:50:36 +0000 matt_gh2 11063@/talks/discussions I'm going to be working on a project where the actor will have a lav mic hard wired to a small recorder, and both recorder and lav will be hidden on actor. What I need is the best small dual recording recorder (by dual recording I mean the ability to record the lav to 2 separate channels, 1 at one level, and another one lower volume level, in case the actor yells and clips/blows out the sound). I also need the best lav mic that has the closest to zero handling noise as the actor may be moving vigorously with animated gestures. What would you recommend. (No wireless lavs here, I'm looking for hard wired.)

Thanks in advance, Matt

GF2 Still Pictures Hacks? http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/2700/gf2-still-pictures-hacks Mon, 26 Mar 2012 21:03:02 +0000 sugarandspam 2700@/talks/discussions Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anybody has been working on hacks for the "Still Pictures" modes of the GF2 (or any of the Panasonic DMC series for that matter), or if anybody would be interested in doing so? Vitality has done some AMAZING work on the video portion of the different cameras, but the truth is I just don't shoot video that much...

I would be very interested in having firmware hacks for Still Pictures, in particular modifed settings for the "Auto (burst) bracketing".

I'd be willing to work on the hacks, but I've never hacked any firmware and I have absolutely no idea where to start. I've coded a little bit in assembly language a while back (and I regularly code in high-level languages), but I wouldn't mind getting back into it if necessary.

Looking forward to a good discussion on the subject... :)

Bracketing -> MultiExposure "middle level research" Setting in Ptool http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/161/bracketing-multiexposure-middle-level-research-setting-in-ptool- Wed, 01 Jun 2011 23:10:29 +0000 Toronto 161@/talks/discussions
It just says "changes bracketing settings to multiple exposure function", but how is "bracketing" different than "multiple exposure", as in an unhacked GH1 when you use the bracketing, it is taking multiple photos at different exposure levels, so they imply the same thing, so I need a clearer explanation from someone who understands what is actually going on and what is changing by enabling this setting choice.

Also as far as I know the GH1 does not combine the photos taken when bracketing into one hdr image, correct? So why would the note say "interface working but image combining not working"? Does that mean Vitaliy is attempting to turn the bracketing function into an auto hdr photo creating mode? If that could be possible it would be very high on my list as it would be amazing to have that feature instead of using something like photomatix to do the combining of all the multiple exposures taken in the (unhacked) bracketing mode into one hdr jpeg.

Thanks]]>
