GH3 + Ninja Blade http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/11637/gh3-ninja-blade Sat, 25 Oct 2014 07:36:23 +0000 belfryman 11637@/talks/discussions Apologies if this is covered somewhere else but I've not spotted it, have seen issues with GH4 and had my own with the FZ1000. I've just been recording with the GH3 and Ninja Blade. I'm set to record 1080p25 (am in UK) on the GH3 with HDMI out set to auto (if I set it to 1080p I get no input on the Ninja). The Ninja Blade says it's receiving 25p but when I take out the SSD to edit in FCPX the footage I'm seeing looks mostly progressive but parts are very obviously interlaced. Anyone else had this, know a fix?

FS:Atomos Ninja Blade http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/10013/fsatomos-ninja-blade Mon, 31 Mar 2014 23:32:22 +0000 thougts2uk 10013@/talks/discussions Hi there,

I am selling my new Atomos Ninja Blade which is about 3 weeks old. This was bought for a multi shoot project and now no longer need it. There is a slight cosmetic mark in the bottom left hand corner of the case, which I have been told will cost $50 USD to replace. It works flawless and the waveform and the ability to record direct to Prores is amazing. The images out of a 5D MKIII being uncompressed 10bit looks so much better than the crappy internal H264. I highly recommend this monitor.

Price is $1000 inc postage.

Kind Regards,

Stu

Additional Aperture for Better Bokeh? http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/6008/additional-aperture-for-better-bokeh Mon, 04 Feb 2013 12:50:58 +0000 fosterchen 6008@/talks/discussions I found this item on Ebay.

It should give a really nice circular bokeh with the number of aperture blades on it. Might be a great cinematic upgrade for lenses with less than desired bokeh. Has 58mm thread, with a max aperture diameter of 37mm. Clickless lever for smooth change.

Question is, would it work if screwed into the front of your lens and how well? Has anybody tried something like this?

Aperture Blade Oil & how to clean it http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/5985/aperture-blade-oil-how-to-clean-it Fri, 01 Feb 2013 17:35:24 +0000 fosterchen 5985@/talks/discussions So I've been looking at some old lenses on Ebay, and many state that the lens may have some oily aperture blades. Anybody know of how to clean aperture blades the proper way? I've search on PV, and I've only found to use an ultrasonic cleaner which I don't know what that is.
Is this something worth doing to bring back the glory of old vintage lenses? It's true they don't make them like they used to. And how bad is having oily aperture blades? Where does it come from and what does it look like?
