The end of the camcorder?

As I'm watching the slow rollout of cameras I'm Impressed with some of the new offerings, but I wondering if this is the end of the camcorder, and, if this is the end of the "prosumer" camcorder.
I started filming with camcorders because way-back-when that was all there was. When we moved to 4K, we had the Lumix cameras, but also the Sony ax100 and the even-better ax700. Both these camcorders has some of the best lenses and sharpest 4K images I have seen in an affordable, compact body that could record unlimited video and be fitted with a monster battery. The mega zoom on these Sony camcorders is astoundingly good.
I don't see any real updates to this line, in fact I don't see any 8K prosumer camcorders on the horizon.
This is a shame because just the zoom rocker alone on such a great lens is incredibly useful for the work we do.
Is this the end of the camcorder?

It's possible that in 1680 or so, Giuseppe Torelli changed the history of music by inventing the concerto. Then again, maybe several people were working on it at the same time.

Winter (Inverno) from Vivald's Four Seasons with the original sonnets

When Vivaldi published his Four Seasons concertos, he included sonnets which were inlaid into the original engraving. In a concert, even if the sonnets are included as printed text it is not quite the same experience as seeing the text accompany the music. To recreate the original experience, we have created a digital overlay for Vivaldi's sonnets: click the CC button to view the sonnet as the video plays, and use the gear icon to choose your preferred language.
This video highlights one of the ways in which YouTube features can be used for education.

Vivaldi's Four Seasons 4K

Vivaldi's most famous work is here performed from a newly discovered manuscript of his lost opera, "Disco Volante," which was unearthed in a trattoria in Venice. Proprietor Giacomo Arditti was in the midst of a remodel when manuscript pages of music literally flew out from inside the walls, where they had been stuffed for centuries as a sort of insulation. Arditti, an enthusiastic collector of antique Venetian Carnival masks, immediately realized the significance of the find. Sadly, only a few pages of the complete work have survived, owing to the inevitable "Acqua alta" of Venice.

Monteverdi's Con che soavità, performed on original instruments by the Early Music ensemble Voices of Music, with soloist Jennifer Ellis Kampani, soprano. Published in Venice in 1619, Monteverdi's work features an arioso melody combined with unusual contrasts between the high and low strings. Filmed with a Sony ax100 4K flat settings.

C.P.E. Bach 300th anniversary

2014 is the 300th anniversary of the composer C.P.E. Bach, one of the most influential of the sons of J.S. Bach. One of the obvious differences between the father and son is that C.P.E. wrote cello concertos, whereas J.S. Bach wrote the suites for unaccompanied cello.

Here's an excerpt from the Cello Concerto in A Minor, Wq. 170, performed on original instruments.
