I read that wider than 35mm RF (Leica) lenses doesn't perform well on m43 (for some optical reasons), does anyone have a wide reflex lens that works well ? I'm looking for a cheaper alternative to the Nokton for a friend, and was wondering if a canon fd 24mm 1.4 would be a good purchase for around 400€.]]>

An ideal lens to supplement any photographer's basic kit, the new full-frame FE 28mm F2 wide angle prime features a bright F2.0 maximum aperture that's ideal for landscape, low-light handheld shooting and much more.

The light, compact design of the lens is an ideal match for Sony's α7 series full-frame camera bodies, with a high-grade aluminum finish adding instant visual appeal. The FE 28mm F2 has a 9-blade circular aperture, three aspherical lens elements – including one advanced aspherical element – and two ED glass elements that work together to ensure excellent edge-to-edge sharpness and excellent bokeh. All lens surfaces are multi-coated to suppress flare and ghosting with backlit shots. The inner focus mechanism of this wide angle prime is driven by an advanced linear actuator, allowing for whisper-quiet AF. Like the new FE 90mm F2.8 Macro G OSS macro lens, overall lens length will remain constant during focusing.

Is the MINOLTA MD 28mm f3.5 a bad lens? http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/12402/is-the-minolta-md-28mm-f3.5-a-bad-lens Tue, 17 Feb 2015 00:52:59 +0000 danny832 12402@/talks/discussions Hi everyone, recently bought a Panasonic GH2 for a great price and wanted to try out some vintage lenses with it for video. Was scrolling through eBay late the other night and purchased a hardly used Minolta MD 28mm f3.5 lens in excellent condition THINKING it was a f2.8!! (Will teach me to read things properly in future) ... anyway it only cost around £30 with postage and it should be here in a few days, but just wanted to find out a few opinions on this version because i couldn't find much information on it.

Ive done quite a bit of research on the f2.8 version and really like some of the images it produces on the GH2, will this f3.5 version be considerably bad compared?

The few posts I've found online have said its nowhere near as good as the f2.8 and on this lens survey site: http://www.photozone.de/active/survey/querylenstxt.jsp?filter=%22brand='Minolta%20MD'%22 it shows quite low ratings compared to the f2.8 model and mentions a 'slightly warm' colour balance.

Just wondering if anyone has had personal experience with this lens and if its worth selling it on and getting the 2.8 instead? (they are practically the same price on UK eBay for both versions) or just sticking with it?

I guess il just test it out myself when it arrives and find out... but would like to get a few opinions on this lens before it does, If anyone has any. I've had no experience with minolta lenses Id just seen the video samples people was getting from the same setup as id ordered and researched the 28mm f2.8 only.

Also as a last thing if it helps: The lens is the last MD version produced by Minolta (quite sure anyway, might be wrong!) and has no 'W.Rokkor' stamped on the front like a lot of them do, not sure if that makes a difference. Here are some images of the exact lens I've ordered: http://addieleman.smugmug.com/Lenses/Minolta/MD-28mm-135/i-K4nT78V

If anyone can share any info id be very grateful!

28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Tamron lens http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/9557/28-300mm-f3.5-6.3-tamron-lens Thu, 06 Feb 2014 05:15:10 +0000 Vitaliy_Kiselev 9557@/talks/discussions

State-of-the-art optical design technology delivers superior image quality
The advanced optical construction of this lens includes four elements of LD (Low Dispersion) glass, three Molded-Glass Aspherical elements, one Hybrid Aspherical element, one XR (Extra Refractive Index) glass element, and one element of UXR (Ultra-Extra Refractive Index) glass, which has greater refractive index than XR. The full use of specialized glass elements in its design contributes to making this outstanding lens as compact and lightweight as possible, while minimizing aberrations, resulting in superior image quality. Particularly impressive is the thorough compensation of chromatic aberrations at the telephoto end, yielding images of enhanced clarity and crispness.

Focus on portability - The lens is now even smaller and lighter
In addition to state-of-the-art optical design that facilitates downsizing of the lens body, the mechanical design, which incorporates a highly sophisticated multi-stack-cam layout that takes up far less space, and PZD (Piezo Drive), an autofocus drive system with a simpler, more compact structure, has made it possible to reduce the overall dimensions of this lens compared to the existing Tamron 28-300mm (Model A20). These technologies are the fruit of Tamron’s more than 20 years of research and development in the high-power zoom lens field.

Advanced anti-reflection coating
The application of BBAR (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection) coatings for suppressing reflections on lens element surfaces minimizes unwanted flare and ghosting to deliver sharp, crisp, high-contrast images.

PZD (Piezo Drive) delivers faster, quieter autofocus action
The PZD (Piezo Drive), a standing-wave ultrasonic motor system, delivers faster, quieter, more precise action when the autofocus is engaged. The full-time manual focus system is easy and intuitive, enabling quick and convenient manual focus at any time.

VC (Vibration Compensation) Tamron’s acclaimed VC (Vibration Compensation) mechanism reduces image blur caused by camera shake to deliver significantly sharper images even when shooting handheld.

Circular diaphragm facilitates achieving spectacular blur effects Using a circular diaphragm, this lens achieves spectacular background blur effects that enable creative use of depth of field.

Moisture-resistant construction for outdoor shooting
Moisture-resistant construction helps prevent moisture from penetrating the lens.

FS: Rode NTG-2 and 2 Pentax Lenses (28mm SMC f2.8 & 50mm SMC f1.4) http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/11314/fs-rode-ntg-2-and-2-pentax-lenses-28mm-smc-f2.8-50mm-smc-f1.4 Wed, 17 Sep 2014 12:46:07 +0000 matt_gh2 11314@/talks/discussions Hi all,

I'm selling a few things, all in very good condition. I have a Rode NTG-2 microphone that I'm selling for $150. That includes free shipping and comes with the foam wind screen and the Rode soft carry case. I also have 2 Pentax Lenses that I would say are perfect, but because I'm not a lens expert I'll just call them "very good". I used them briefly but decided to stick with my 28mm & 50mm Lomo lenses for the particular look I'm going for on my next project. I don't see any problems at all with the glass, and the images looked perfectly clean when I used them on my GH2. I'm selling them each for $100. That includes free shipping, as well as a free Pentax to m43 adapter, so these are ready to use once you receive them. They both have front and rear caps, as well as a clear screw on filter for protection. If you want to buy the 2 lenses I can offer them both for $180.

I keep all my gear properly stored in Pelican cases, and will also be very carefully wrapping and packing these before I ship them to you.

Thanks, Matt

Wider Fov with a 28 mm and wrong adapter! http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/5580/wider-fov-with-a-28-mm-and-wrong-adapter Tue, 25 Dec 2012 13:02:43 +0000 AlbertZ 5580@/talks/discussions I've bought a Pentax K Mount lens (28mm) and since I haven't yet an adapter ring pk-mount -> m4/3, I've tried to use directly on my gh1 with an adaptor FD-m4/3. Of course, the adaptor doesn't fit correctly but..if you watch the result just holding the lens attached to the ring, you will able to focus and...you will get a remarkable WIDER FoV than 50mm eq (28x1.8 on gh1)!!! Anyone could explain me the reason?

It's in swedish, so don't worry if you don't understand the lyrics. The chorus means, basically: "but If you stay I stay" Shot with lomo 28mm and flektogon 35 (macro).. Was it Orion v4b? I think so.
