Magic colour profile?

I have been playing with the my colour setting on the GH2, the "Retro" colour profile specifically. The magical thing is it is giving me tones so flat, pictures so clean, resolution so sharp that non of the other film or colour profile could match from my own quick test. Am I seeing things?
