German industry robot manufuacturer Festo recently presented what I think looks like the first "more or less naturally looking and flying" robotic bird - fun to watch:

I wonder if such a robot could be used to shoot some impressive close-ups of living birds - but then again, Winged Migration contained such already without requiring a robot :-)
Amazing and frighting at the same time. Another two years and there will be drones watching you from the sky that look exactly like a real bird...

Robots are not the ones killing people, it's the people commanding them.
And at least amongst the US-Government it seems to have become fashionable to kill people by drone - as recent reports suggest.
Festo did it again - now they presented the first artificial Dragonfly that actually flies by the same methods that living Dragonflies use, pretty interesting to watch:
