I've seen a few threads concerning different aperture adjustment EOS adapters. I was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a non-aperture adjustment EOS to m43 adapter (don't need it) that fits solidly with no wiggle. I have the Fotsay one which is a $20 Amazon one and I really hate how the EOS lens wiggles on the adapter. Can any recommend one that is nice and solid with no wiggle?
I bought 4 cheep EOS-M43 with built in aperture ring, because it really rock solid on all EF-mount lenses. I put it also on Samyang lenses that no need additional aperture control.
a lot of people recommend the kipon with manual aperture ring, see p bloom. I have it, use it with tokina 11-16 for canon ef lens. real big heavy lens. Pretty solid.
+1 for the Kipon adapter. The manual aperture isn't much use but the adapter is well machined and a good fit.
I bought the kipon off eBay from china for $80 instead of the $180 US price. Worth every penny. I think you will regret buying an adapter without an aperture ring. It really comes in handy with my sigma 30mm because it doesn't have an aperture ring
I have the kipon/bower without any aperture adjustment, it's quite well made.
+1 worth every penny
I say 'quite well made' as, although it craps all over the cheap $20 models, it does not compare to a novoflex adapter (novoflex don't make an eos)
the kipon has an aperture ring with 1-6 marked for f-stop guidance, The ring turns well past the 6 (lens closed down). You should stay within the 1-6 mark. Beyond that, it vignettes significantly. So the more the lens is closed down the bigger the vignette.
You just need to be aware of that when you shoot. You will see it clearly vignetting.
Problem is, it's not the right spot for any aperture in the optical design.
It works fine in real life.
I would like to buy a set of Samyang/Rokinon cine lenses for my GH2. I prefer canon mount due to their normal focus direction (compared to the nikon mount). In that case which adapter should I get? The kipon adapter has already an aperture ring built in and the rokinon lens has a clickless aperture. So will it make things difficult to work?
I really prefer an adapter without the aperture controls. Any suggestions in that direction?
OK I think I found couple of them:
DotLine adapter - 50$ http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/774470-REG/Dot_Line_DL_0822_Micro_Four_Thirds_Adapter.html
Bower - 86$ http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/747120-REG/Bower_AB43EOS_AB43EOS_Micro_4_3_Camera.html
Adaptimax - 380$ http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/751294-REG/Adaptimax_APACM4_3_Canon_EF_to_micro.html
One reviewer says that the adaptimax adapter makes a 30mm looks like a 50mm lens!. Is it possible?
Detailed info: http://www.adaptimax.com/adaptimax_canonef_to_micro.html
The Kipon adapter vignettes at any 'stop' value past 3. Just use it wide open.
I haven't noticed any vignetting at any stop on a sigma 30mm, rokinon 35 & 85
Thanks for all of the replies!
I may wait for the metabones optical reducer EOS adapter. But is this the rock-solid Kipon everyone is talking about?
that's the nikon f to m4/3 kipon adapter without aperature control. So it appears to be a Kipon. The topic here is Canon EOS ef lens to m4/3 body. Here's pics w review

I bought before Kipon aperture adapter (160$) but very disappointed from it because lenses didn't sit well and played backlash. I twice dropped Samyang (Rokinon) 85mm 1.4 because it screwed from Kipon adapter. I sold my Tokina 11-16 because all zoom lenses went out of focus when I changed zoom position. Now I'm really safe with cheep ebay aperture adapter, it gives feel like one piece with lens.
The Tokina went out of focus because it's not parfocal. Did you not know that? As are most zoom lenses. That is not the fault of the adapter.
yeah, agree with vicharris. the tokina doesn't stay in focus when zoomed in. Test the manual focus on a ef mount camera while zooming.
Most zooms are not parfocal. Canon EF 16-35mm 2.8L is parfocal, but only 2x zoom range.
Any new good EF to MFT adapters come on to the market since this topic was last updated?
