Fujifilm FinePix HS50EXR review
HS50EXR really is an all-in-one camera that will cope with virtually everything that you can throw at it, from macro photography to extreme close-ups of sports and nature. It also successfully mimicks the handling of a typical DSLR camera, with the obvious advantage of not having to carry several big, heavy and expensive lenses to achieve anywhere near the focal range that the HS50EXR offers out-of-the-box.
Image quality meets your requirements then the HS50EXR makes a compelling argument to be the only camera that you need.

I just love it when they call F6.5 bright. Calling F2.9 bright is almost as bad as well. Also why do people insist that they need to carry a camera around with them that can do 1200mm in 35mm terms? My 8 inch aperture telescope barely does that. However, unlike this camera my telescope is a fast(For its focal length) F4.0.
Your telescope and this camera work in different situations. Camera companies know that most long zooms shots come in very sunny days, hence so many slow zooms with very long ends.
Yea but do average people really need 1200mm? 600mm would probably be plenty and 300mm is probably all they can really reliably hand hold.
The camera can capture full 1080p and 1280x720 video at 60fps for slow motion playback. The huge 42x optical zoom and continuous AF make this a very powerful tool, allowing you to record from a great distance although the continuous AF does work slowly, and will not keep up with you zooming, but the image will come into focus. Audio is recorded with the built-in stereo microphone.
Fuji's FinePix HS50 EXR is a dSLR alternative with an incredibly versatile 42x optical zoom lens and powerful EXR II system. This system gives great performance and fantastic Auto shooting modes.
