real question is . . . will battery door open with camera on this? It looks like a good contender. If so, it'd go great with a caged GH2.

@B3Guy I have that from another vendor and, no the battery door won't open. I put a Manfroto QD adapter on mine or as Vitaliy said, a file is an option (Hacksaw first)

Thanks for the correction! Ordered a few minutes ago, will review when it gets here. Looks like it might be a while though since its coming from China.

@Vitaliy_Kiselev I can't be certain without sitting them side by side, but everything looks the same. Mine has 4 screws attaching the baseplate instead of 2, but everything else looks right.

Btw, good idea how to get if door will open.
Get the rule, measure the distance from threaded hole. After this open ebay link and compare to the provided camera base width divided by 2.

@Vitaliy_Kiselev Is there are reason you think this particular model is good over some other ones in roughly the same price range? Also, I wonder about it's ability to support a mattebox and a small monitor like dp6. And maybe also attach a shoulder support and handles? Just curious.

First, price of most other bases is larger. Second, it looks like manufacturing quality for this one is batter.

I just ordered the base in the top post yesterday and today I found this new guy that makes this base.

Looks like it's one piece vs three like the other one. It's also an american shipper so I could of gotten this in a week vs two plus of the original post. Oh vell.
