In March EU fined tiny $312,5 millions Hitachi, Rubycon, ELNA, Tokin, NEC, Matsuo, Nichicon, Nippon Chemi-Con, Vishay Polytech, Holy Stone Holdings, Holy Stone Enterprises and Sanyo Electric for price fixing and hiking in 1998-2012. Extra money this companies got in such long period of time is in the tens of billions, so fine is just childish game for them.
Now Korean authorities are looking at the newer cartel and will include more players. Chinese are expected to join the party.
Note that cartel still exist with margins on capacitors even surpassing same cartel agreed margins on Japanese cameras.
