Does anyone know anything about them? I can't find anything - review-wise...
I'm a big fan of Briese lights and B2Pros. I'm due to shoot a couple of music vids for a female vocalist and this looks like a nice/cheaper alternative. Any info would be appreciated.
No such thing as Konova lights exist.
They are some rebranded lights. Check ebay and opther manufacturers. Normally it'll be cheaper.
Can't find anything like it elsewhere...
@rockroadpix - Like you, I would love to find a cheaper option for the Briese lights, but I don't think anything exists. These seem a bit different, as Briese let you focus a beam by shifting the globe within a parabolic umbrella. The throw of these is probably soft and somewhat focused, but maybe not distributed as well, and also not adjustable. Maybe check out a Photoflex Starlite umbrella?
I'll check them out. Thanks!
I knew the Konova would not do much in the range of focus, but a really nice soft light for portrait style work woud be great. I'd like something bigger than a ring light.
I went ahead and got the Fancier version of the same light. It produces a very nice light- Good for a soft key with the soft box on or a ring light that is adjustable. I gotta say that I am really pleased and all for <$500!
My only issue is that the reflector part of the soft box is really weak. I ripped it slightly when I was putting it on for the first time. It's made of some cheap plastic/vinyl material. Gaff tape mended it, but I may have a more durable new one made by a seamstress or tailor. Here's the family pooch. I'll post some more screen grabs when I'm able to get some skin in front of it.
@rockroadpix got a link from that light? i'm impressed =)
