AMOLED price falls below LED

    According to this article, AMOLED screens are now cheaper than LED for some sizes.

    According to IHS Technology it has only taken 24 months for AMOLED production costs to fall below that of LCD. Production costs in the first quarter for a five inch Full HD smartphone display are $14.30 for an AMOLED panel and $14.60 for an LCD display. - See more at:

    This is good news.

    And it is inevitable thing, as amoled screens are thinner and much simpler.

    I'm surprised the price came down this fast, but it probably is a selling point for phones and tablets. Interested to see if the TVs follow.

    Samsung and Apple are making huge investments now.

    They will be cheaper (we have even topic about it here). Just not so fast due to huge errors made by Samsung management.
